Maithreyi Sarma, MD

Dr. Sarma is a hematologist and medical oncologist who trained at MedStar Georgetown's WHC and the University of Buffalo's Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. She believes this field rests at the beautiful intersection of science and humanity. Dr.Sarma’s passion for oncology was fueled by a knowledge of the immense privilege that comes with being a part of her patients’ journeys and the treatment advances that continue to change lives. Her role as an oncologist involves ensuring that people have access to the best therapies that science has to offer, while also finetuning it to optimize one’s quality of life. She enjoys the joy and privilege of being a clinician and supplements it with a keen interest in clinical research that helps advance the field. She also has multiple publications across prestigious journals and presentations at national conferences. Apart from oncology, her other passions are dancing, reading, and traveling.
