Dr. Nicholas Cook was born in Virginia but spent most of his childhood in American embassies throughout Africa and Europe. He graduated from Loyola Medical School in Chicago and then went on to complete his residency at Temple University and hematology oncology fellowship at Brown University in Providence Rhode Island. Dr. Cook worked as a General Medical Officer and Aviation Medical Officer for the US Navy, recalled for Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, Medical Oncology and Geriatrics.
Dr. Cook has received multiple awards including: Teacher of the Year six times, Navy Commendation Medal three times, Navy Achievement Medal twice, Meritorious Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, and Operation Desert Storm Kuwait Liberation Medal.
Dr. Cook is married and has a daughter. He is a four-time cancer survivor. He speaks six languages and enjoys spending time with his family, writing, reading, statistics, simulated sports games, fishing and golfing outside of work.
